At Sharon Hill Fire Company, volunteers are needed of all ages – as young as 14! And at all skill levels – we will train you!
No prior experience is necessary. Training, equipment and gear are all provided for free.
As an active firefighter age 18 and older, you will encounter a broad range of fire calls from businesses, industrial parks and homes in the Sharon Hill Borough and neighboring towns. You will utilize up-to-date equipment and the best techniques to save lives and protect property.
At 16 and 17, you can assist firefighters at the scenes of emergencies. While you may not enter burning buildings, groundwork keeps firefighters safe and helps them effectively fight fires.
You can begin training for firefighting as young as 14 and 15. Start learning the techniques and skills, and participate in drill nights. Cadets do not go on fire calls, but they provide important assistance at the fire company and prepare to become junior firefighters.
“I have benefitted by obtaining training to further my career goals.”
